Updated photos of the outside....

The outside siding and fixing of the peaks have been finished... It is finally looking more complete. They also sent a crew up from PA to repair all the water damage in the master bedroom.... No inside photos yet. We still need to have the plumbing and heating work finished before we can button up and paint the inside..

Digging the well....

My Dad put this collage together with a photo program he has on his computer!

They had to go down 320 feet but hopefully they found some good tasting water.
They have been working on the siding all week and should be finished with that tomorrow... We still have to install the heat, plumbing and electric... plus all the finish work on the inside.

IT'S HERE!

After many delays the house is finally on its foundation! What a huge production it was. Everything fit just perfect and the setting crew worked all day into the evening. They will return tomorrow to finish the roof and siding etc. We did discover considerable water damage in the master bedroom. Rain water must have leaked through the plastic wrap as it was sat in the field. We have been assured that they will come and repair all the damage. We even had a visit from our hometown newspaper, The Stow Independent, and will be featured in an article in next week's issue. I will be posting some inside photos over the next few days. In the meantime, thanks for all your help Dad. As always, your tenacity amazes me.

basement floor and house is parked in field

There has been a slight delay putting the house on the foundation BUT half of it was delivered yesterday. It was supposed to fit on our land but the driver could not get in the driveway with his big truck so we scrambled to find a place to park it along with the second half which will arrive on Monday. It looks pretty neat sitting there but they have put the wrong color siding on! We originally picked this color, clay but changed our minds the next day to dark grey. We are not sure what they are going to do about it yet. If all goes as planned it will now be set on the foundation this coming Friday. They do have a smaller truck to hook up to it which will then enable it to make the swing into the driveway. As you can see, we were all ready to try to pull it with our Nissan, but we could not budge it!

Fun Around the work site

I meant to post these over the weekend... so they are a bit out of order... Ian and I had fun exploring.. wondering how the house would look when it finally is HERE!

Ps: As you can see our lovable donkey made the journey back from Vermont....

Drainage & Bulkhead

Everything seems to be coming together quickly now. The house will be driven into Stow sometime Friday afternoon and will be parked in the Erikson's Ice cream parking lot until Monday morning. If all goes well it should be set on the foundation by the end of the day and then all the buttoning up will start.

revealing the basement... it is BIG from the inside!

Foundation is poured....

They snapped these forms together so fast after lowering them down from the crane on the truck. My Dad told me that in the past the men had to lug each piece in (and out) of the hole.
The cement is all poured and they will come and take off the forms leaving the basement walls this morning.
